§ 56105 Protest And Objection Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you have a problem with how something was done in a government process, you must write it down.
  • •Your complaint must say exactly what was wrong or missing.
  • •You have to send your complaint on time and in the right way, or it won’t count.
  • •If you don’t follow these rules, it’s like you never complained at all.

Example

Your neighbor builds a fence that blocks your driveway, and the city approved it. You think the city didn’t check the plans right.

You can’t just yell at the city workers or tell your friends about it. You have to write down exactly what the city did wrong (like ‘they didn’t check if the fence would block my driveway’) and send it to the right office before the deadline. If you don’t, the city won’t fix it, and you lose your chance to complain.
