§ 53264 Contract Approval Effective Date

• •This rule only applies to new contracts or old contracts that are renewed after September 28, 1992.
• •If a contract was made before this date and isn't renewed, this rule doesn't affect it.
• •The rule starts working from September 28, 1992, onward.

A city signs a contract with a company in 1990 to fix roads. In 1993, they decide to extend this contract for another 5 years.

Because the contract was extended after September 28, 1992, the new rules now apply to it. If they hadn't extended it, the old rules would still apply.
