§ 32255 County Fire Personnel Retirement

Key Takeaways

  • •If a county has all its fire fighters working under the county forester or fire warden, and no fire fighters working under a fire protection district, then two extra members must be chosen for a special group.
  • •These two extra members must be picked from the fire fighters who are part of the county's retirement plan.

Example

Imagine a county where all fire fighters work for the county forester, and there are no separate fire departments. The county needs to pick two more people for an important team.

The county must choose these two people from the fire fighters who are already part of the county's retirement plan. So, if John and Sarah are fire fighters in this county and are in the retirement plan, they could be picked for this team.
