§ 27247 Mechanics Lien Index Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The recorder must keep a list of mechanics' liens.
  • •The list must have three columns: who owes money, who is asking for money, and when and where the notice was filed.
  • •This helps people find information about mechanics' liens easily.

Example

A contractor fixes a house but doesn't get paid.

The contractor can file a mechanics' lien. The recorder will write down the homeowner's name, the contractor's name, and when the notice was filed in a special list.
