§ 23350 County Creation Election Notice

Key Takeaways

  • •If a new county is proposed, the local leaders must call for a vote.
  • •The vote must happen on the next big election day (primary or general) that is at least 74 days away.
  • •The vote can be combined with other big elections to save time and money.

Imagine a group of towns wants to form a new county called 'Sunshine County'.

The local leaders in those towns must set up a vote for everyone to decide if 'Sunshine County' should be created.
