§ 23550 County Consolidation Election Notice

• •The county leaders must call for a vote after getting a special report.
• •The vote must happen on the same day in all the counties involved.
• •The vote must be at least 74 days after the report is received.
• •The vote is to decide if the counties should combine into one big county.

Imagine two small towns next to each other want to become one big town.

The leaders of both towns get a report saying they can combine. They must then set up a vote for everyone in both towns to decide. The vote has to be on the same day in both towns and can’t happen too soon—it has to be at least 74 days after the report.
