§ 14655 Employee Transfer To General Services

Key Takeaways

  • •If you worked for the Department of Finance or Transportation on September 16, 1965, and your job was moved to the Department of General Services, you keep your job and rights.
  • •Your job status stays the same even after the move, unless your new job is one of the special ones not covered by civil service rules.
  • •This rule is about making sure people don’t lose their jobs or benefits just because their job was moved to a different department.

Example

Imagine you worked at the Department of Transportation fixing roads, and then your job got moved to the Department of General Services.

You don’t lose your job or your pay—you just keep doing the same work, but now for the new department. It’s like changing classrooms but keeping the same teacher and rules.
