§ 13074 Provisional Population Estimates Final

• •If the state changes its guess about how many people live in a county, it won’t change how much money the county gets from the state.
• •Even if the state fixes its guess later, the money the county gets stays the same.
• •This rule is only for money the state gives to or takes from local places like counties.

The state first guesses 100,000 people live in a county and gives them $1 million. Later, the state says, 'Oops, it’s actually 105,000 people!'

The county still keeps the $1 million. The state won’t give more or take money back just because they fixed their guess.
