§ 13084 Capital Outlay Support Funding Adjustments

Key Takeaways

  • •The Department of Finance can move money around for the Department of Transportation’s big projects, but they can’t add or take away any total money.
  • •They can only change the money for big projects, not for other things like fixing potholes or paying workers.
  • •Before they move any money, they have to tell some important people in the government and wait 30 days.

Example

Imagine the Department of Transportation has $100 for building new roads and bridges. They realize they need more money for a big bridge project but less for a smaller road project.

The Department of Finance can take $20 from the road project and give it to the bridge project, but the total money stays $100. They have to tell the government leaders about this change and wait 30 days before doing it.
