§ 14502 Commission Membership Appointments

Key Takeaways

  • •The group has 13 people in it.
  • •9 people are picked by the Governor and approved by the Senate.
  • •2 people are picked by leaders in the Assembly and Senate, but they don't need Senate approval.
  • •2 more people from the Assembly and Senate join but can't vote.
  • •Members can't have another government job at the same time.

Example

Imagine a school club with 13 members. The principal picks 9 kids, and the class president picks 2 more. Two teachers join to help but don't get to vote on club decisions.

This law works like that school club. The Governor picks most members, a few are picked by leaders, and some join just to help but can't vote.
