§ 10271 Commission Membership Composition

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission has members from the Senate, Assembly, and people chosen by the Governor.
  • •Some members can be added if they were part of a special group for a long time.
  • •Legislators on the commission can work on it as long as it doesn’t conflict with their main job.
  • •The legislators on the commission act like a special team with certain powers.

Example

Imagine a group at school that makes rules for games. Some kids are picked by the teacher, some by the principal, and some get to stay because they’ve been in the group for years.

This law works the same way. The commission has people chosen by different leaders, and some can stay because they’ve been part of it for a long time. The ones who are also lawmakers can help as long as it doesn’t mess up their main job.
