§ 11552 State Executive Salary Schedule

Key Takeaways

  • •This law sets the yearly salary for 38 important state jobs in California at $85,402 starting in 1988.
  • •If all state workers get a raise, these 38 jobs get a similar raise, but their raise won't be bigger than the general raise.
  • •The list includes jobs like the Director of Parks and Recreation, Director of Motor Vehicles, and the State Public Defender.

Example

Imagine you work for the state of California as a park ranger, and everyone in your office gets a 3% raise. The Director of Parks and Recreation, who is your boss, will also get a raise, but it won't be more than 3%.

This law makes sure that the bosses in these 38 important jobs get a fair raise just like other state workers, but they can't get a bigger raise than everyone else.
