§ 10277 Commission Participation In Uniform Laws

Key Takeaways

  • •The state can join a group that helps make laws the same across different states.
  • •The state pays money to this group based on how many people live in the state compared to other states.
  • •The money comes from a special fund managed by the Legislative Counsel.

Example

Imagine California wants to work with other states to make traffic laws similar everywhere.

California would join a group that helps make these laws the same. Since California has a lot of people, it would pay more money than a smaller state like Rhode Island.
