§ 28122 License Application Abandonment

Key Takeaways

  • •If you don't answer the questions asked by the commissioner when applying for a license, your application can be canceled.
  • •You'll get a written warning giving you 60 days to respond before your application is canceled.
  • •If your application is canceled, you won't get your application fee back.
  • •You can apply again later, but you'll have to pay the fee again.

Example

You apply for a driver's license but don't reply to the DMV's request for more information.

If you ignore their letters for 60 days, your application gets canceled, and you lose the fee you paid. You can apply again, but you'll have to start over and pay the fee once more.
