§ 100017 Commissioner Reporting Violations

This law says the commissioner must regularly send information about rule breaks and enforcement actions to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry, but only if that information is a public record.

Key Takeaways

  • •The commissioner must report violations and enforcement actions regularly.
  • •Reports go to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).
  • •Only information that is a public record can be reported.

Example

A mortgage broker is found to have given false information on a loan application.

Because the broker broke the rules, the commissioner has to tell the NMLS about the violation and any action taken, as long as that info is public.
