§ 100011 License Issuance Requirements

This law says the commissioner will give you a license if your application is complete and meets all the rules, and will tell you why it’s denied if it doesn’t.

Key Takeaways

  • •You must submit a complete application, including the DOJ information.
  • •The commissioner reviews the application and decides if you meet the requirements.
  • •If you don’t meet the requirements, you get a notice, a chance to be heard, and a written reason for denial.

Example

Jane fills out a hunting license application, includes the required background check from the Department of Justice, and sends it in.

The commissioner checks her paperwork. Because everything is there and she meets the rules, the commissioner sends Jane her hunting license. If Jane had left out the background check, the commissioner would have sent her a notice, held a hearing, and then written why the application was denied.
