§ 850 Department Staffing Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss of a government department can hire people to help with the work.
  • •These helpers can be paid or not paid, depending on what the department needs.
  • •The boss can hire as many people as needed to get the job done right.

Example

Imagine a school principal who needs more teachers and janitors to keep the school running smoothly.

The principal (like the director in the law) can hire more teachers (paid) or ask for parent volunteers (not paid) to help with school tasks. This way, the school can do its job better.
