§ 6453 Triploid Grass Carp Reporting

Key Takeaways

  • •If you put special fish (triploid grass carp) in a lake or river to eat weeds, you must send a report every year by March 1.
  • •The report must say how many fish you put in, how big they were, and how many weeds were there before and after.
  • •You have to keep sending the report for 5 years after you stop using the fish, unless you prove all the fish are gone.

Example

A farmer puts special fish in a pond to eat weeds that are hurting the water.

The farmer must tell the government every year how many fish were put in, how big they were, and if the weeds went away. They have to keep doing this for 5 years after they stop using the fish, unless they show all the fish are gone.
