§ 10821 Modoc Game Refuge 1C

This law draws a line on the map to show where Game Refuge 1C is in Modoc County, using creeks, a mountain ridge, and roads as the borders.

Key Takeaways

  • •The refuge is inside Modoc County and follows specific natural features like Parker Creek, the South Fork of Parker Creek, the Warner Mountains ridge, and Mill Creek.
  • •The line also follows a road that goes past Mill Creek Ranger Station, Cantrell’s sawmill, and Bowman Ranch, then back to the forest edge.
  • •Anything inside that line is a protected game refuge, so hunting or other activities that could harm wildlife are not allowed there.

Example

A hunter wants to set up a stand near the top of the Warner Mountains to hunt deer.

Because the top of the Warner Mountains is part of the line that makes up Game Refuge 1C, the hunter cannot hunt there; the area is protected by this law.
