§ 77918 Flower Producer Qualification Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'producer' is someone in the state who grows flowers to sell and can show proof of selling them.
  • •You're not a 'producer' if you sold less than $250,000 worth of flowers last year.
  • •The $250,000 amount can go up if two-thirds of the commission members vote for it.
  • •The $250,000 amount can only go down if most producers vote 'yes' in a special vote.

Example

A small flower farmer sells $200,000 worth of flowers in a year.

This farmer is not considered a 'producer' under the law because they didn't sell at least $250,000 worth of flowers. So, they don't have to follow the rules for producers.
