§ 59081 Marketing Order Suspension

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss can stop or cancel a marketing order if it doesn't follow the rules or purposes of the law.
  • •Before stopping or canceling, the boss must hold a public meeting to talk about it.
  • •The meeting must follow the rules set out in Article 6 of the law.

Example

Imagine a group of farmers have a special rule about how they sell their fruits. The rule says they can only sell big, red apples.

If the boss finds out that this rule is not helping the farmers or is against the law, he can stop this rule. But first, he must call a public meeting to talk about it with everyone.
