§ 21750 License Renewal Grace Period

Key Takeaways

  • •If you run a cattle salesyard and your license expires, you won’t get fined if you apply for a new one within 30 days.
  • •This only works if you had a license before and kept running the salesyard after it expired.
  • •You must apply for the new license quickly—within 30 days of the old one expiring.

Example

A farmer’s license to run a cattle salesyard expires on January 1st. He keeps selling cattle but forgets to renew his license.

If the farmer applies for a new license by January 30th, he won’t have to pay any fines, even though he was operating without a license for a short time.
