§ 19443 Court Injunctions For Violations

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can go to court to stop someone from breaking the rules in this law.
  • •The court can order the person to stop breaking the rules right away or forever.
  • •The government doesn’t have to prove that money or other fixes won’t work—they can just ask the court to stop the bad behavior.

Example

A factory keeps dumping dirty water into a river, even after being warned.

The government can go to court and ask a judge to order the factory to stop dumping waste immediately. The judge can make this order without the government having to prove that money or fines won’t fix the problem.
