§ 19034 Court Injunctions For Violations

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can go to court to stop someone from breaking the rules in this law.
  • •The court can order the person to stop doing the wrong thing right away or forever.
  • •The government doesn’t have to prove that nothing else will fix the problem or that the damage can’t be undone.

Example

A factory keeps dumping dirty water into a river, even after being warned to stop.

The government can ask a court to make the factory stop dumping waste immediately, without having to show that the river is already ruined or that fines won’t work.
