§ 9360 Voter Mailing Address Consolidation

Key Takeaways

  • •If two or more people with the same last name live at the same address, the election office can send just one copy of election mail to that home.
  • •This rule only works if the local government and the election office agree to do it.
  • •It’s about saving paper and postage when sending election stuff to families.

Example

The Smith family has three adults—John, Jane, and Jim—all registered to vote at the same house.

Instead of sending three separate voter guides to the Smiths’ home, the election office can send just one copy if the city and election office say it’s okay.
