§ 4011 County Committee Legal Counsel

Key Takeaways

  • •The county's lawyer (or the district attorney if there's no county lawyer) can give legal help to the county committee.
  • •If the county board of education is handling certain tasks and has agreed to pay for the county committee's expenses, the committee can hire their own lawyer.
  • •The cost of hiring this lawyer will be paid from the county school service fund.

Example

Imagine the county committee needs legal advice about a new school program.

If the county board of education is managing the budget for this, the committee can hire a lawyer to help them. The money for this lawyer comes from the school fund, not the committee's pocket.
