§ 35515 Elementary District Inclusion Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'component district' is a small school area (like an elementary school) that is part of a bigger high school area.
  • •Even if the small school area is not part of a plan to combine schools, it still sends its students to the high schools in the new combined area.
  • •This rule helps keep things organized when schools are being combined or changed.

Example

Imagine there is a small elementary school called Sunny Elementary. The big high school in the area, called Mountain High, is combining with another high school to make one bigger high school.

Even if Sunny Elementary is not part of the plan to combine, it will still send its students to the new bigger high school. Sunny Elementary is a 'component district' because it is part of the bigger high school area.
