§ 10506 Regional Education Data Funding

This law lets a school district or county school superintendent ask for a cash grant each year they run an approved regional education data center, up to three years total.

Key Takeaways

  • •You can only get a grant for up to three fiscal years.
  • •The first year you can ask for is $30,000, the second year $20,000, and the third year $10,000.
  • •You can’t get more than one grant in the same fiscal year.

Example

A county school superintendent runs a regional data center and applies for a grant in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

In 2024 they get $30,000, in 2025 they get $20,000, and in 2026 they get $10,000. After that they can’t get another grant because the law only allows three payments.

How to Calculate

Allowance = { $30,000 if fiscal year = 1; $20,000 if fiscal year = 2; $10,000 if fiscal year = 3 }

  1. Determine which fiscal year of the grant you are applying for (first, second, or third).
  2. Look up the amount that matches that year in the formula.
  3. The amount you receive is the amount from Step 2.

A school district applies for its second-year grant.

Result: $20,000
