§ 8832 Contractor Stop Work Notice

A contractor builds a new kitchen for a homeowner. The contract says the homeowner will pay $10,000 within 30 days of the kitchen being finished. The kitchen is done perfectly, but the homeowner doesn't pay even after 35 days.

The contractor can send a special notice to the homeowner saying they will stop working until they get paid. This is allowed because the contractor did their job well and wasn't paid on time.
