§ 19089 Material Standards For Furniture

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can set rules for the quality of materials used in furniture, beds, and stuffing.
  • •They can decide how these items should be labeled so people know what's inside.
  • •The rules can't go against other laws already in place.

Example

You buy a new couch, and the tag says it's filled with foam.

The government made sure the foam inside meets safety rules and that the tag tells you the truth about what's inside.
