§ 17532 Coal Misrepresentation Fraud

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't lie about what kind of coal you're selling.
  • •You can't say coal is from a different mine than it really is.
  • •Doing this on purpose to trick people is against the law.

Example

A person sells coal and says it's high-quality 'Anthracite' coal, but it's really cheap 'Lignite' coal.

This is breaking the law because they lied about the type of coal to trick the buyer.
