§ 1697 Diversion Program Compliance Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're in a special program to fix a problem (like addiction) to keep your license, you have to follow the rules of the program.
  • •You usually have to pay for the program yourself, unless the board says you don’t have to.
  • •If you don’t follow the program’s rules, you can get kicked out.

Example

A doctor has a drinking problem and joins a program to keep their medical license.

The doctor must follow the program’s rules, like going to meetings and staying sober. If they skip meetings or keep drinking, they can get kicked out of the program and might lose their license.
