§ 260 Juvenile Hearing Officer Reports

Key Takeaways

  • •If a kid breaks a rule and a juvenile hearing officer makes a decision, they have to write it down.
  • •The juvenile court clerk must send a summary of that decision to the DMV.
  • •This helps the DMV know if a kid should have their driving privileges affected.

Example

A 16-year-old gets caught street racing and the juvenile hearing officer decides to suspend their driver's license.

The officer writes down their decision and sends it to the court clerk. The clerk then sends a summary to the DMV so they know to take away the teen's driving privileges.
