§ 11057 Continued Aid Eligibility Screening

This law says if someone can't get help from one government program anymore, but might qualify for another, the government must tell them and help them apply quickly so they don't lose their money.

Key Takeaways

  • •If you can't get help from one program, the government must check if you can get help from another.
  • •They must tell you about the other program and help you apply.
  • •They must do this quickly so you don't miss any payments.

Example

A person gets money from a program for families with kids, but their kids grow up and they no longer qualify. However, they might qualify for a different program for low-income adults.

The government must tell them about the other program and help them apply right away so they don't miss any payments.
