§ 9553 Drainage District Property Deeds

Key Takeaways

  • •When the board sells a property, they give the buyer a paper (deed) that says the property is theirs.
  • •The property is sold clean, but the buyer still has to pay some taxes and fees, like state taxes or local fees.
  • •If there are any unpaid fees from the drainage district, the buyer might have to pay those too.

Example

Imagine you buy a house from the government at a special sale.

You get the house, but you still have to pay things like property taxes and any old fees for drainage work in the area.
