§ 9379 Ballot Voter Record Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •The election board must write down who voted and how they voted.
  • •If someone votes for another person (like a proxy), their name gets written down too.
  • •They also note how many votes each person gave and whether they said 'yes' or 'no' to the bonds.

Example

A small town is voting on whether to build a new school using bonds (borrowed money).

The election workers must make a list of every voter’s name, who voted for them if it’s a proxy vote, and whether they voted 'yes' to build the school or 'no'. This list helps keep track of all the votes fairly.
