§ 9030 Surrender Payment Recordkeeping

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone pays money to leave a reclamation district, it must be written down in the district's books.
  • •The county treasurer, who holds the district's money, must also write down this payment.
  • •This rule makes sure the payment is officially recorded in two places.

Example

A farmer wants to stop being part of a group that manages water for farms. He pays money to leave the group.

The group must write down that the farmer paid to leave. The county, which keeps the group's money, must also write it down. This way, everyone knows the farmer paid and left the group.
