§ 9031 Drainage District Warrant Exchange

Key Takeaways

  • •If a drainage district has special money papers (warrants) and they are being held by the county treasurer, the treasurer can swap them for new ones under certain rules.
  • •The swap can only happen if someone asks the treasurer to do it.
  • •The rules for swapping are explained in this part of the law.

Example

Imagine a small town has old papers that promise to pay money for fixing flood problems. These papers are kept by the town's money keeper (county treasurer).

If the town wants to trade these old papers for new ones, they can ask the money keeper to do it. The money keeper will follow the rules in this law to make the swap.
