§ 4101 Conduit Headgate Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you own a water channel, you must build a strong gate at the start where water is taken from a river or dam.
  • •The gate must work well and be kept in good shape.
  • •The government checks if the gate is good enough.

Example

A farmer builds a small dam to take water from a river to their fields.

The farmer must put a strong gate at the start of their water channel. If the gate is weak or broken, the farmer must fix it so the government is happy with it.
