§ 2857 Board Judgment Enforcement

Key Takeaways

  • •If no one complains to the court in time, the court can make a decision without hearing both sides.
  • •The decision will be in favor of the board and against the other parties.
  • •The amount of money or penalty decided by the board will be final.

Example

Imagine your neighbor builds a fence that blocks your driveway. The city says they have to move it, but your neighbor doesn’t complain to the court in time.

The court can then automatically rule in favor of the city, and your neighbor will have to pay the fine or move the fence, even if they think it’s unfair.
