§ 185 Board Rules Adoption

Key Takeaways

  • •The board must create rules for how they do their work.
  • •These rules should follow the guidelines in Chapter 3.5 of the Government Code as much as possible.
  • •The rules help the board run smoothly and fairly.

Example

A school board is making rules for how they will hold meetings and make decisions.

The board must make sure their rules match the big rules already set by the state in Chapter 3.5. This means they can't make up random rules—they have to follow the main guidelines.
