§ 178 Board Member Removal Process

Key Takeaways

  • •The people in charge of a board can be kicked out if they don't do their job right.
  • •They can also be removed if they are dishonest or not good at their job.
  • •The Legislature (the people who make laws) decide if they should be removed.
  • •More than half of the Legislature must agree to remove them.

Example

Imagine a school principal who never shows up to work and ignores problems at the school.

The people who make the rules for schools could vote to fire that principal if most of them agree it's the right thing to do.
