§ 159 Special Meeting Requirements

• •Special meetings can be called anytime by the leader or if four members ask for it.
• •Everyone must be told ahead of time what the meeting is about.
• •Only the topics listed in the notice can be talked about, unless everyone is there and agrees to talk about something else.

A group of neighbors wants to talk about fixing a broken fence in their community.

If four neighbors ask for a special meeting, the leader must call one. They have to tell everyone the meeting is about the fence. They can't suddenly start talking about painting the community hall unless everyone is at the meeting and says it's okay.
