§ 1091 Witness Subpoena Enforcement

This law says that if someone refuses to show up, talk, or bring stuff they were told to by a special paper called a subpoena, the board can ask a court to make them do it.

Key Takeaways

  • •If you get a subpoena, you have to go to court or bring what they ask for.
  • •If you don't, the board can ask a court to make you do it.
  • •This only happens if you refuse to do what the subpoena says.

Example

Imagine you get a paper saying you have to go to court and bring some papers, but you don't show up or bring the papers.

The board can then tell a court, and the court can make you go and bring the papers.
