§ 13361 Privilege Suspension Grounds

This law says the DMV can take away your driver's license if you're convicted of certain bad driving crimes, like hitting a car and driving away or causing a death while driving.

Key Takeaways

  • •Your license can be suspended if you don't stop after a car accident, even if no one is hurt.
  • •If you get caught reckless driving more than once, you could lose your license.
  • •Causing a death while driving can also lead to losing your license.
  • •The DMV might make you prove you can pay for damages before getting your license back.

Example

You accidentally hit a parked car and drive away without leaving a note.

The DMV can suspend your license because you didn't stop after damaging someone's property.
