§ 7681 Railroad Employee Safety Violations

Key Takeaways

  • •If you work for a railroad and do something dangerous on purpose, you can get in trouble.
  • •This is for people like train drivers, conductors, or anyone who helps run the trains.
  • •You can be punished if you break the rules and put people's lives or safety at risk.
  • •This law only applies if there isn't another law already covering the same mistake.

Example

A train conductor sees a broken track but ignores it and keeps driving the train.

The conductor knew about the broken track but didn't stop the train, which could cause a crash and hurt people. This is breaking the law because they put lives in danger on purpose.
