§ 6294 Franchise Utility Installation Compliance

Key Takeaways

  • •If you get permission to set up things like pipes or wires in a town, you have to follow the town's rules.
  • •You also have to follow the state's rules, especially if you're working near state roads.
  • •The town's rules can't go against the state's bigger rules.

Example

A company wants to put up new telephone poles in a city.

The company must follow the city's rules about where and how to put up the poles. If the poles are near a state highway, they also have to follow the state's rules for that.
