§ 614 Heat Corporation Property Condemnation

• •A company that provides heat can take private property if they need it to build or keep up their heating systems.
• •They can only do this if the property is really needed for their work.
• •This rule was added in 1975.

A heating company wants to build a new plant but needs a small piece of land owned by a farmer.

The company can take that land from the farmer if they can prove it's necessary for their heating plant.
