§ 60046 Local Land Use Authority Limits

• •The district cannot control how local governments decide to use land.
• •Even if other laws say the district can do things, this law says no to land use decisions.
• •This law has been in place since 1997.

A city wants to build a new park on empty land.

The district cannot tell the city it cannot build the park or force the city to use the land for something else.
