§ 434 Public Utility Reporting Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The government can ask companies like electric or water providers to send them reports or information whenever they want.
  • •Instead of making new reports, these companies can send reports they already made for other government groups, but only if those reports have everything the government asks for.
  • •The reports must clearly say what rules they follow and the company must promise the info is true.

Example

A water company has to send a report to the government about how much water they use every month.

The water company already made a similar report for another government group. They can send that same report instead of making a new one, but it has to have all the info the government wants and they must say it’s true.
